Description & Operating Principle

HMEC’s Horizontal Continuous Motion Cartoning Machines are designed for large-volume industrial packaging where uninterrupted, high-throughput efficiency is paramount. Unlike intermittent machines that start and stop for each packaging step, continuous motion cartoners move cartons, products, and insertion pushers in continuous, smooth synchronization along a rotary barrel-cam drive system.

Flat carton blanks are continuously pulled from the magazine using multi-head rotary vacuum suction cups that positively pre-break and open the carton before depositing it into the continuously moving conveyor chain. Simultaneously, pre-folded leaflets (or leaflets folded on-the-fly by an integrated GUK folder) are paired with incoming products. Multi-station rotary servo pushers gently slide the product and leaflet horizontally into the open carton while in motion, followed by automatic flap tucking or hot-melt adhesive sealing and online 2D barcode inspection.
